The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets will renew their rivalry tonight at Citizens Bank Park. I’m jacked for this game/series/season and after taking 2-of-3 games from the Oakland Athletics, we can now get down to business in the NL East against the poverty franchise Mets.
Right now, the Braves are still the favorite in Vegas to win the National League East at +125 but both the Mets and Phillies are trending in the right direction.
#DingersOnly is the new rally cry in Philadelphia and with the DH now in the National League, the Phillies offense should have no issues putting runs on the board and crush home runs throughout the summer. I already jumped on the Phillies to win the division at +340 and I think everyone should stop what they’re doing now and at least sprinkle a little something on that while the odds are still high.

Tonight, I’ve got my eye on Kyle Schwarber. I started following this account on Twitter, @BallparkPal and I highly recommend you do the same. The guy gives some really good pitcher vs batter breakdowns and takes into account the ball park as well.
The numbers are screaming for a Schwarber bomb tonight.
The books seem to like him to go yard as well with his odds to hit a home run tonight at +175. I’m going to play this two different ways tonight with Schwarber. Instead of taking him to hit a home run at +175, I’m jumping on the home run/match winner parlay.

Taking the home run/match winner parlay offers much better value. Sure, you’re risking the the game result but I’m not a fan in taking home run straights unless the odds are at least +200 or larger. The other play I’m taking on Schwarber tonight is over 2+ total bases at -115. This is a no brainer in my mind. If he hits a dinger obviously you’re golden. But I could see him drive one in the gap or bang one of the wall and just miss the homer but ends up with a stand up double.
Schwarber owns Mets starting pitcher Taijaun Walker. Over 11 at-bats against Walker, Schwarber is 5-for-10 with FIVE BOMBS and a walk. Not only does Schwarber own this geek, the Phillies as a team are hitting .305 against him lifetime.
Phillies Race to 2 Runs (-118)
With the matchups we have tonight, I think the Phillies can get after Walker early and often so I’m adding Phillies -118 race to 2 runs to my plays tonight as well.
Side Note: If Ranger Suarez can get through the first six outs without giving up a pair of runs, which he will, he’s our No. 2 pitcher in the rotation (shots fired).
Anyways, the Phillies should knock in 2 runs before heading to the third inning.
