The same deal is happening for the NBA as well and is the perfect way to get your account ready for the NBA playoffs, starting next weekend.
Ranger Suarez is set to make his season debut to kick off the series. Suarez is coming off a dominant 2021 season, where he tallied just a 1.36 ERA in 106 innings pitched. Ranger struck out 107 batters and allowed just 16 earned runs throughout the whole season.
Zack Wheeler gets the ball on Tuesday in the 2021 Cy-Young runner-up’s first start this season. Wheeler’s Spring Training was delayed after his heavy workload in 2021 with the irregular offseason, then catching the flu just a week into camp. The Ace threw 213.1 innings last season, tallying 247 strikeouts and a 2.78 ERA.
The premier pitching matchup takes place on Wednesday, as Aaron Nola battles Max Scherzer in the series finale. Nola is coming off a good first start, where he tallied 6 innings pitched, allowing just 4 hits. Nola was obviously running out of gas in the 7th, which led to three of his four earned runs.

Phillies Offense Shines in First Series
Although the Phillies’ offense struggled yesterday, the first two games of the season were the complete opposite. The team put up 13 runs in just 18 innings, with four total home runs.
It seems like Joe Girardi is running a rotational system with Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott. Stott will be in the lineup when righties are on the mound, and Bohm will get the nod with left-handed pitchers.
New York Mets: Real or Frauds?
The Mets have a good lineup on paper, and they have a pretty lethal front of their rotation. But as we all know, the Mets will always be the Mets. Jacob deGrom is out for an extended period of time, and Scherzer is still battling a slight injury as well.
The Mets took three of four from the Nationals this weekend, giving them a record of 3-1 heading into tonight’s series opener against the Phillies. The team’s lineup depends on Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso, along with outfield offseason acquisition Starling Marte.
Game 1 Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
New York Mets | +1.5 (-160) | +128 | O9.5 (+100) |
Philadelphia Phillies | -1.5 (+132) | -152 | U9.5 (-122) |
Game 1 Prediction
The Phillies’ bats were dead yesterday and I’m totally fine with blaming the offensive struggles on cold, miserable weather in South Philadelphia with some nasty winds that kept the majority of balls inside the ballpark. I’m looking at the Phillies bouncing back tonight at the plate with a win against the New York Mets.
Phillies -1.5 and U 9.5 (-112) in a 6-3 victory.
