Phillies Preview: Ranger Suarez’s season debut, tonight’s starting lineup, and more
The Phillies welcome the NL East rival New York Mets to town for a three-game series, starting tonight at 6:45 EST. The Phillies currently sit a half-game back of the Mets for first place in the NL East after one series in the books for the 2022 MLB season.
Ranger Suarez will make his first start of the season tonight and will go up against Taijuan Walker. Suarez is coming off a dominant 2021 season, where he tallied just a 1.36 ERA in 106 innings pitched. Ranger struck out 107 batters and allowed just 16 earned runs throughout the whole season. Needless to say, if Suarez can put up numbers close to what he did last year, he will be in the running for NL Cy Young.
