Are NBA Officials coming to Philly on Friday to give Joel Embiid the MVP Award?

Jesus Christ. I’m sitting here trying to get a preview out for tonight’s 76ers-Heat game and out of no where, we have a man by the name of Justin Morris firing off a tweet stating that according to his sources, several NBA representatives are expected to be in attendance in Philadelphia on Friday for Game 3 and reason being, is that Joel Embiid has won the 2021-22 NBA Most Valuable Player Award.
Justin Morris on Joel Embiid MVP Award (UPDATED) – Tweet Deleted

Update – There’s your answer.
I have no idea who Justin Morris is or why he would be crazy enough to tweet something like this. According to his Twitter bio, he’s a Topics Editor for Fox Sports and a New York Times contributor, previously writing for NJ.com, SB Nation, and Fansided.
Fansided explains the blue checkmark. At one point, they went through all of their editors and did everything possible to get them all verified. Outside of that, he has 2,410 followers while following 2,323. There’s really nothing substance to this guy outside of that.
Look, I have no idea. I don’t see this coming from anywhere besides Justin, so it’s probably a load of shit. We do have the Drew Hanlen tweet from earlier this morning stating that he was on his way to Philadelphia. I wrote about that and assumed he was arriving in Philly to work with Joel Embiid ahead of his projected Game 3 return on Friday night.
Is it possible he’s coming to watch his number one guy get awarded with the MVP?
Maybe, but not likely.
All things considered, I’m staying on the side that this is simply not true and that NBA officials are coming to give Joel Embiid the NBA Scoring Title Award.
From there, you have to wonder what Justin Morris is doing? If he’s a member of the media and a journalist, firing something out there in regards to the NBA MVP and more specifically Joel Embiid winning the award is absolutely crazy.
Justin Morris is either a complete psychopath that wants to watch his credibility and the world burn, or he’s absolutely correct. There’s no in between and now he has every 76ers fan on Twitter down his throat for the foreseeable future.
I guess we’ll find out on Friday.
Oh, and to be clear, Joel Embiid 100% deserves to win the MVP but if you’re reading The Liberty Line, you know that already.
