Phillies #5 prospect Logan O’Hoppe earns MLB Pipeline’s Team of the Week honors
Phillies catching prospect Logan O’Hoppe has made MLB Pipeline’s Minor League Team of the Week, after a standout six games in Double-A Reading.
O’Hoppe is the team’s fifth-ranked prospect and just the third-ranked position player. The Phillies’ star catcher down in Reading went on an absolute tear this past week, crushing five homers in four straight games on Tuesday-Friday.

O’Hoppe started off his Spring Training with the Phillies major league team but was sent back down to Double-A pretty early in Clearwater.
Although his lack of experience still lingers, he doesn’t often show it on the baseball field, coming off a standout 2021 season. He slashed a line of .270/.331/.458 throughout all three levels, with 17 total HRs, 58 RBIs, and an OPS of .789.
O’Hoppe was dominant behind the plate as well, holding a .992 fielding percentage, and caught runners stealing 25% of the time. He caught over 650 innings behind the plate in 2021 and committed just six errors.Â

This season, O’Hoppe is slashing .304/.420/.583 with 8 HRs, 23 RBIs, 35 hits, and a 1.003 OPS in 33 games played. He continues to get better after taking home the Dernell Stenson Sportsmanship Award, and being an Arizona Fall League Fall Star last season.
The Reading Fightin Phils fell to Binghamton on Tuesday morning, bringing their record to 17-23 on the season. Today kicked off a six-game series, taking Reading all the way till just about the end of May.
