Steelers to hire Eagles exec as Assistant General Manager

Eagles Vice President of Player Personnel Andy Weidl is set to join the Pittsburgh Steelers as an Assistant General Manager, according to Aditi Kinkhabwala.
Weidl first interviewed for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ general manager vacancy a few months ago. Last month, he was considered to be the front-runner for the job, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. A few weeks back he conducted his second interview with the team and was considered to be a finalist.
Longtime Steelers execuitive Omar Kahn is now considered to be likely replacement for Kevin Colbert, who stepped down following the 2022 NFL Draft.
Weidl had been with the Eagles since 2016 and has quickly climbed the ladder during his tenure here. Howie Roseman has already lost several members of his front office this offseason. Ian Cunningham left to become the Chicago Bears Assistant GM, while Brandon Brown and Catherine Raiche both left for the same role with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns
Before arriving in Philly, Weidl actually started his career in Pittsburgh back in 1998 as a player personnel assistant.
