Miles Sanders quote stirred up some bad memories.

Eagles fans keep bringing up Vince Young calling the 2011 Eagles “The Dream Team” as a reference for why this is a bad quote. Are we really going to let an off the cuff comment from a backup quarterback stain our perception of anybody being confident?

The sheer volume of fans terrified of looking foolish speaks to the deep damage that years of bad luck has had on this franchise. The 2011 Eagles weren’t even that bad. They were 8-8 and very easily could have made the playoffs if not for a few late collapses and a shaky start to the season.

But the backup quarterback said they had “the Dream Team” in training camp. So everybody acts like an extremely mediocre season was some kind of dumpster fire.

Now we’re tripping over ourselves to be the first to tell Miles Sanders he’s out of line for being excited.

Just remember what Beercan Brain told you: Cowardice is the thief of glory. Stop wondering what can go wrong and start dreaming of what can go right.
