2 Phillies prospects chosen for upcoming MLB Futures Game

Phillies prospects Erik Miller, RHP, and C Logan O’Hoppe have been selected for the upcoming 2022 MLB Futures Game.
Logan O’Hoppe, the 22-year-old catcher, has been on a tear down with Reading, slashing .269/.381/.524 on the year, with 14 HRs, 39 RBIs, and an OPS of .905. In 60 games, O’Hoppe has logged 57 hits, 10 doubles, 5 stolen bases, while holding a 20% strikeout rate.
O’Hoppe’s name has been floating around over the last few weeks, with the MLB Trade Deadline under a month away. It’s been rumored that O’Hoppe could be used as a trade piece, as the Phillies already have JT Realmuto and Rafael Marchan down in AAA.
Logan O’Hoppe’s breakout came last year in the Arizona Fall League, where he slashed .299/.440/.520 in 22 games. He crushed 3 HRs, 17 RBIs, 23 hits, and 8 doubles in just 77 at-bats. The Phillies’ top positional prospect was just moved up to #91 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list.
Erik Miller, 24, is a left-handed starter that has tore up Double-A in 2022. Miller holds just a 1.52 ERA in 7 starts, allowing just 4 earned runs and tallying 30 strikeouts. Miller has racked up a SO/9 ratio of 11.4, and a WHIP of 1.099.
