Monkeys are attacking children and elderly in Yamaguchi, Japan, sending residents to the hospital in droves

We all knew this day would come. Residents in Yamaguchi, Japan are under attack by monkeys.
Japanese macaques are the monkeys behind the attacks, which are sending folks to the hospital in droves. Attacks have been happening since July 8th and the monkeys have been “biting, clawing at human flesh, and sneaking into nurseries trying to snatch babies.”
Residents in Yamaguchi, Japan Under Attack by Monkeys
According to reports, monkeys have been targeting young children, babies, and even hanging out at preschools trying to snatch any children they can get their grubby little hands on.
Attacks have been reported by nearly 60 people and the city has responded by sending special forces out with tranquilizers. So far, they have managed to take down just one 15-pound monkey.
Look, I understand that just tranquilizing monkeys is the nice thing to do, but when do Japanese authorities actually fight back? Just taking down the monkey temporarily clearly isn’t working. The monkey’s just keep on coming.
We do not need the island of Japan to be overrun by baby-killing monkeys. Am I suggesting we start killing all the monkeys? Maybe. I know PETA won’t like that and the animal rights groups will lose their minds but desperate times call for desperate measures. Has anyone in Japan watched Planet of the Apes?
What’s the reason for the monkey insurrection? It appears that no one really knows. You would think that the monkeys are doing this in order to get food, but that doesn’t appear to be the case, as they are specifically targeting young children and the elderly.
I feel like we’re missing something here. The Japanese government has been relatively quiet on the issue. What’s going on in Yamaguchi, Japan? What made these monkeys so upset that they are attacking Japanese youth?
We need answers. Fast.
