Phillies Updates: Syndergaard, Marsh, and Robertson debuts, Segura and Harper return timelines

The Philadelphia Phillies managed to address three areas of need yesterday before the MLB Trade Deadline, adding a starting pitcher in Noah Syndergaard, a centerfielder in Brandon Marsh, and another bullpen arm in David Robertson.
In corresponding moves, the Phillies DFA’d both Odubel Herrera and Jeurys Familia, which means there are a lot of moving pieces happening with the Phillies roster ahead of today’s afternoon game against the Atlanta Braves at 12:20PM.
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s happening with the Phillies roster and when the new additions to the team will be making their debuts in Philadelphia.
Noah Syndergaard will make his Phillies debut tomorrow night.Â
- Thursday – Syndergaard
- Friday – Gibson
- Saturday – SuarezÂ
- Sunday – Nola
David Robertson is with the Phillies in Atlanta today and is active.Â
Rob Thomson spoke with the media last night, stating Brandon Marsh is the everyday centerfielder. Marsh will join the team tomorrow when the the Phillies return home.
Phillies have Simon Muzziotti on the card as an extra outfielder today, Francisco Morales was optioned back to Lehigh Valley.
Jean Segura is expected to rejoin the Phillies when they return home tomorrow.
Dave Dombrowski stated last night that Bryce Harper is progressing well and is at the ballpark putting in FULL workouts and swinging his bat. Harper is hopeful to return to the Phillies within 2-3 weeks.
Phillies Wild Card Fever
Wild Card fever is upon us. I know the Phillies got the crap kicked out of them last night against the Atlanta Braves but it was a bullpen game and after such a successful trade deadline, it’s best if we just move on and focus on the road ahead.
The Phillies are currently 55-48 on the season, 10 games back of the New York Mets in the National League East and 7.5 games behind the Braves in second. They are currently tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for the third and final NL Wild Card spot and after today’s game against the Braves, will play the next seven games at home against the Nationals (4) and Marlins (3).Â
Ring It. It’s time to go on a run.
