Rhys Hoskins selected as the Phillies’ winner of the 2022 MLBPAA Heart and Hustle Award

Phillies 1B Rhys Hoskins has been selected as the Phillies winner for the 2022 MLBPAA Heart and Hustle Award.

“This esteemed award honors active players who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit, and traditions of the game. The Heart and Hustle Award is also the only award in Major League Baseball that is voted on by former players. Voting is conducted prior to the All-Star break.” – MLB.com
Rhys Hoskins has had a great season for the Phillies, hitting .247/.336/.466 on the year. He’s crushed 20 HRs and 48 RBIs while logging 95 hits, 20 doubles, 2 triples, and a season OPS of .802. Hoskins had a great month of June, slashing .306/.414/.612 in 98 ABs, hitting 7 HRs and 15 RBIs in that time.
Hoskins has always been a classy guy throughout the city of Philadelphia. The first-baseman and his wife teamed up with “Go Yard” a while back, an organization that benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Hoskins has always been a vocal person for the Phillies and has been a leader in many different ways.
The last two Phillies nominees for this award were Ronald Torreyes in 2021 and J.T Realmuto back in 2019. Ozzie Albies of the Atlanta Braves took home the award last year. The winner will be announced in mid-November.
