Preview: Phillies square off against the Nationals at 7:05; team set to honor legendary public address announcer

The Phillies take on the Washington Nationals tonight at 7:05 EST in the second game of a 4-game set. Kyle Gibson (6-4, 4.60 ERA) gets the ball for the Phils, going up against Josiah Gray (7-7, 4.59 ERA) of Washington.

The Phillies are coming off a 5-inning win on Thursday night after a 2+ hour rain delay canceled the last four innings of the game, pushing the Fightins to a 5-4 win. Two homers from Rhys Hoskins and Alec Bohm powered four of the Phils’ 5 runs after Syndergaard struggled a bit, allowing four earned runs in five innings.

With last night’s win, the Phillies are officially 57-48 on the season, pushing them to 9 games over .500, and tied for the last Wild Card spot with the Cardinals and Brewers.

Kyle Gibson gets the ball tonight at 7:05, but you better be in your seats by 6:30. Legendary public address announcer Dan Baker will be honored before the game, celebrating 50 years on the microphone.
