Watch: Bryce Harper taking batting practice at Citizens Bank Park

For the first time since June 25th, Bryce Harper is taking batting practice on the field at Citizens Bank Park today.
Harper had pins removed from his broken thumb in early August and has been hitting off a tee on a daily basis. Over the weekend, it was announced that he would be taking the next step in his rehab and begin hitting at Citizens Bank Park.
In a recent post on his Instagram story, Harper posted a video of him taking swings today at CBP.
Bryce Harper Batting Practice
It’s a beautiful sight to see, folks. Let’s home that thumb holds up and Harper is feeling good after a little batting practice today. Rob Thomson said that Harper would then do a quick rehab assignment in Lehigh Valley before returning as the DH in the Phillies’ lineup.
Before getting injured, Harper was slashing .318/.385/.599 in 64 games with 15 HRs, 48 RBIs, and an OPS of .985.
Yes, the Phillies just went through the National League gulag of Sandy Alcantara, Max Scherzer, and Jacob deGrom and walked away with a 2-1 record in those games, but getting reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper back in the lineup will be a huge plus for an offense that has been anything but consistent.
The Phillies are back in action tonight in Cincinnati with a three-game series against the Reds before returning home for a four-game series against the New York Mets.Â
