Series Preview: Phillies meet again with the Cincinnati Reds, first-pitch set for 7:05
The Philadelphia Phillies open up a new series tonight against the Cincinnati Reds at 7:05 EST.
Noah Syndergaard (7-8, 3.95 ERA) gets the ball for the Phillies, going up against Luis Cessa (3-1, 5.50 ERA) of Cincinnati.
The Phillies dropped a tough game on Sunday, as a blown save in the 9th inning pushed the Mets to a 10-9 win. The game was back and forth, and even with SIX RBIs from Alec Bohm, the team couldn’t get the job done. David Robertson had to come into the game after throwing 35 pitches on Saturday and allowed a 2-run homer to Mark Canha that pushed the score to 9-8, followed by another Mets homer to move it to 10-8.
Nick Maton would score JT Realmuto in the bottom half of the 9th, but Darick Hall would go down looking for the final out of the 9th inning. If you’re not reading our game recaps after every game from Steve Baruti, I don’t really know what to tell ya at this point. Check out yesterday’s recap here.

The Phillies now sit at 66-55 on the year and control the third wild card spot, as the Padres won yesterday, putting the Phils back of San Diego. The Fightins really have a good chance to gain some ground over the next few weeks due to their easy schedule.
