Roster Tracker: Eagles announce final cuts, release initial 53-man depth chart

Now that the final preseason game is in the books, the Eagles brass will be working around the clock to get their final 53-man roster in order.
Teams will have until Tuesday at 4 PM to finalize their rosters. The following day at noon, NFL waiver wire claims will be revealed and teams will begin forming their 16-man practice squads.
Here’s everything we know about who Philly has cut up to this point.
This article will continue to be updated until the Eagles’ final 53-man roster is finalized.
Eagles roster is now down to 53 players

August 30th
4:20 PM — Final roster cuts include: RB Kennedy Brooks, CB Kary Vincent Jr., WR Britain Covey, G/T Kayode Awosika, LB Christian Ellis, WR John Hightower
3:53 PM — Eagles have waived LB Jacoby Stevens, per NBC Sports’ Dave Zangaro.
3:32 PM — The Eagles are waiving TE Noah Togiai, per Mike Kaye.
2:19 PM — The Eagles are waiving DB Andre Chachere, per Pro Football Network’s Mike Kaye. A player who I thought had a real shot to make the final-53, Chachere was active on defense and special teams throughout camp. I expect the Eagles will want to keep him around.
2:15 PM — The Eagles are releasing WR Deon Cain, per league source. Cain shined during the preseason, catching 8 passes for 106 yards. A prime candidate for the PS if not picked up elsewhere.

2:07 PM — Eagles have released G Jack Anderson per his agent, reported by The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane.
1:16 PM — The Eagles are waiving/injured DT Kobe Smith, per Matt Lombardo.
11:44 AM — CBs Tay Gowan and Mac McCain have been waived, per multiple sources.
11:33 AM — Philadelphia is waiving WR Devon Allen, per Matt Lombardo of Heavy.com. The Olympian started to make plays as preseason went on; the team is hoping to keep him on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
11:17 AM — The Eagles are waiving DT Marvin Wilson, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. He’s expected to be back on the practice squad following a strong camp.
11:10 AM — Eagles have waived OT Le’Raven Clark, per Adam Schefter. Dallas is expected to have interest.
11:07 AM — After failing to agree on a new deal, the Saints have traded DB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson to the Eagles, per multiple reports. At just 24 years old, Gardner-Johnson has recorded 28 passes defended, five interceptions (three last season), and 161 tackles. A fantastic get for Philly at this juncture of the offseason.

🏈Eagles receive safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and Saints’ 7th-round pick in 2025.
🏈Saints receive the Eagles’ 5th-round pick in 2023 and the worse of their two 6th-round picks in 2024.
11:05 AM — Shockingly, the Eagles are releasing safety Anthony Harris. The veteran was brought back on a cheap one-year deal and was slated to start opposite Marcus Epps on the backend of the secondary. Another move is on the horizon.

10:52 AM — Eagles have waived UDFA CB Mario Goodrich, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The team signed Goodrich to a fully guaranteed deal that pays him $217,000, much more than the typical UDFA contract. He was one of 10 CBs in this year’s college class who played over 360 coverage snaps and allowed 0 TDs.
10:19 AM — The Eagles are going with just two quarterbacks on the roster, waiving QB Reid Sinnet. Other than the 55-yard throw to WR Devon Allen, Sinnet was abysmal in preseason action.

August 29th
4:59 PM — The Eagles have released WR Greg Ward with an injury settlement, per Chris Franklin of NJ.com. Ward had an uphill battle to make the roster with the new additions at receiver this season.
If anything, he’s been a reliable option for Philadelphia when needed, catching 88 passes for 768 yards and 10 TDs over the last three seasons.
Our best (and most clutch) receiver was on the practice squad all year.

3:29 PM — Veteran TE Richard Rodgers has also been released by the team, per NJ.com’s Chris Franklin.
12:48 PM — The Eagles waived CB Josh Blackwell and DT Renell Wren, per multiple sources. Blackwell has already been waived by the team during camp. He was brought back following the trade of S Ugo Amadi.
12:12 PM — In a somewhat surprising move, the Eagles decided to waive running back Jason Huntley, Per Pro Football Network’s Mike Kaye. He felt like the front-runner to earn the RB4 spot on the depth chart. He’ll more than likely come back on the practice squad.
12:04 PM — The Eagles have waived undrafted rookie quarterback Carson Strong after guaranteeing the rookie $320K, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.
Despite his collegiate accolades, the Eagles failed to give Strong many opportunities to showcase his ability in preseason or practice, often left out of drills entirely. An indication that perhaps the front office and coaching staff didn’t see eye-to-eye.
11:59 AM — The Eagles have informed veteran safety Jaquiski Tartt of his release. The veteran was viewed as a one-year bandaid for the safety position in Philadelphia.
Unfortunately, Tartt missed time in training camp due to personal reasons. After failing to gel in Jonathan Gannon’s defense, the team has opted to move on, per multiple sources. Tartt had interest from several teams prior to signing in Philly, so he’ll likely land another job elsewhere.
11:28 AM — The first cut of the day came just after noon, when the Eagles waived veteran center Cameron Tom, per Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson.
