Red October: Where the Phillies stand after series with the Miami Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies let a sweep of the Miami Marlins slip away in the 9th inning last night thanks to a poor defensive effort from Rhys Hoskins and a blown save from David Robertson.
The Fightins now sit 2.5 games ahead of Milwaukee for the third and final Wild Card spot in the National League, after the Brewers swept a doubleheader against the San Francisco Giants yesterday.
Phillies Wild Card Standings

With 25 games left in the 2022 MLB Season, the Phillies will now shift focus over to the Washington Nationals, who will be in South Philadelphia tonight to begin a three-game series.
The good news for Phillies fans, is that beating the Nationals has become one of the highlights of the 2022 season. We have managed to beat the Nats 10 out of 12 meetings so far this season in what can only be described as the purest form of #Natitude Major League Baseball has ever seen.
We’ll give credit to the Nationals, who have been playing some pretty solid baseball as of late. They just won 6-of-9 (nice) games, four of which were against the New York Mets.
As for the Brewers, I’d bet their collapse is coming. They will face the Cincinnati Reds at home before a brutal eight-game stretch against the Cardinals, Yankees, and Mets.
Syndergaard is on the mound tonight against Patrick Corbin for the Nationals. Corbin, having a miserable season, is 6-17 with a 6.28 ERA. The last time out against the Phillies he was only able to record a total of two outs while allowing six runs.
The Hunt for Red October Continues.
