Citizens Bank Park put the Eagles game on the Jumbotron for fans who stuck out historic rain delay yesterday

The Philadelphia Phillies managed to overcome the longest rain delay in Citizens Bank Park history yesterday to complete the sweep of the Washington Nationals, winning 7-5.
Shoutout to all the Phillies faithful who not only went to the game, on the first NFL Sunday of the season, but also stayed through a 3 hour, 36 minute rain delay against the Washington Nationals. These people might be a bit sick in the head, but we thank them for their service while the rest of us were in the comfort of our own homes watching the AJ Brown and the Eagles beat the crap out of the Detroit Lions.
Citizens Bank Park deserves a major shoutout as well, as they did the right thing and broadcasted the Eagles game on the Jumbotron during the delay.

Personally, I don’t think I could have made it but maybe with the right amount of alcohol, food, and the birds game on the Jumboton, I cold be swayed to stick it out. It’s not like fans had many other options anyways. You’re already wet from the rain that poured down on the Delaware Valley all day yesterday, and it’s not like Xfinity Live! would have been that much better of an option.
At that point you might as well stick it out in an almost-empty CBP and enjoy the short lines at concessions while taking in the Eagles game on the big screen.
If you think about it, once you’re pot committed and you have the Eagles game playing, it makes total sense. The Phillies have the day off today and will travel to Miami, opening up a three game series tomorrow, then heading to Atlanta for three before returning home on the 20th to face the Blue Jays.
I performed the national anthem and god bless america that day. i obviously stayed around the whole time, but i was VERY tempted to drink and eat a lot the long wait through the rain AND innings 3 through 7. i couldn’t. but, i did after i played in the bottom of the 7th!
