LeSean McCoy: The Eagles are the best team in the NFC, on the same level as Buffalo

After a Monday night beatdown of the Minnesota Vikings, the Eagles hype train has been rapidly gaining traction.

Nearly every sports outlet has ranked the Eagles as a top-10 team after their 2-0 start. National and local pundits alike have had nothing but glowing reviews for the Birds thus far, including a former Eagle-great, running back LeSean McCoy.

Now a co-host on FS1’s “Speak,” alongside another former Eagle, Emmanuel Acho, and Joy Taylor, Shady hasn’t been shy about his approval of his former team.

Following the Eagles dominant performance against Minnesota, McCoy said what every fan was thinking during the team’s Monday night contest — the Eagles are the best team in the NFC. Not only that, Shady believes the Eagles are the only team in the NFL who’s on the same level as another team he suited up for, the Buffalo Bills.

“I love the Bills, but I got to say yes, there is,” McCoy said when asked if there was another team in the NFL on the same level as Buffalo. “You watched the game [Monday] night, what did my boys do? We dominated, we dominated. So, I love the Bills, but if you ask me ‘is anybody else on their level?’ I got to say the Eagles. The big dogs in the NFC.”

Buffalo was the preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl and they’ve looked every bit of a Super Bowl contender through two weeks, outscoring their opponents 72-17. They appear to be the class of the AFC at the moment, so saying the Eagles are on their level is certainly high praise from Shady.

Per DraftKings Sportsbook, Philly’s odds to win the Super Bowl currently sit at +1200, tied for the fourth-best SB odds with the Green Bay Packers. As expected, Buffalo still sits atop the Super Bowl odds at +400.

If McCoy’s proclamation proves to be true, we could be in for a Philly-Buffalo Super Bowl come February. Only time will tell.
