Bold fan jumps wall to catch Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run, fails spectacularly

Aaron Judge hit his 62nd home run tonight in Texas. Of course, this led to sheer pandemonium at the ballpark, including one fan who hopped over the second outfield wall in case nobody was able to catch the ball (like what happened last week).
See if you can spot the fan hopping the fence for Judge bomb #62:
If you didn’t see it, an eagle-eyed Twitter user managed to post a clip that clearly shows this guy putting it all on the line for the 62nd home run ball.
Now THAT is how you go after a baseball ladies and gentlemen.
Did someone catch the ball rendering the move totally useless? Sure. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a hell of a hustle play.
He may not have come away with a record breaking baseball worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, but he’ll live on in the blogosphere for generations. And that’s all that matters.
It was leagues better than the piss-poor effort on display in Toronto, where at least three folks had a shot at it. Just look and tell me which is a more admirable play.

I rest my case.

That’s as far as me caring about this record goes, though. I don’t care that Aaron Judge broke Roger Maris’ record, mostly because I don’t know who the fuck Roger Maris is.
Last I checked, a bunch of other players hit more home runs than him. Am I supposed to be impressed it was in the American League? AL baseball is a joke and always has been.
If Roger Maris wasn’t a Yankee, he’d be a footnote. I hate Barry Bonds but the dude hit dingers. Sorry, not sorry.
Oh, and congrats to the guy who caught the ball, I guess. Not like he needed any luck, though.
