Draymond Green avoids suspension and Bobby Portis is furious

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green officially avoided suspension today, instead receiving a fine from the organization for punching Jordan Poole in the face. While the scenario is hilarious to me, a born hater, one man took issue with the lack of punishment. Bobby Portis, Jr., who received an eight-game suspension after clocking Nikola Mirotic in practice in 2017 as a member of the Bulls.
Here’s known coward Steve Kerr announcing Green will return Saturday:
Wild stuff.
While I personally agree with not suspending Draymond, I can understand why BPJ is pissed with the result. He nearly had his reputation ruined in 2017 because of the incident.
Plus, Portis has drawn a lot of attention on Twitter since Poole got rocked, on which he’s felt obligated to comment:
I’m 100% of Bobby’s side here, and you should be too. It’s not that Draymond should have been suspended, but the Bulls suspending Portis was utter horseshit.
Nikola Mirotic was one of the biggest douchebags in the NBA during the 2010s, so he definitely had it coming. PLUS, it was entirely out of self-defense, while Dray socked Poole because he was likely being an annoying little bitch.
There’s so little justice in this world. I know life isn’t supposed to be fair, but it’s crazy to look back on how the league nearly turned their back on BPJ, while the Warriors were content to sweep this incident under the rug.
They dragged his name through the mud like he was Michael Phelps getting caught smoking weed. He could have wound up out of the league, and had to work extra hard just to get a second chance.
Again, I want to reiterate I’m on both players’ sides. I’m pretty much on everyone’s side BESIDES Jordan Poole. I don’t even have a good reason for it other than I love chaos and hate change.
