Steelers fans got engaged at Lincoln Financial Field as Pittsburgh got embarrassed by the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles destroyed the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday. It was a great time for every Eagles fan in attendance. As for the Steelers fans who were bold enough to show face at The Linc, not so much.
That was especially true for two Steelers fans. For some reason, a Pittsburgh man decided the Eagles-Steelers game in Philadelphia was the perfect time to pop the question to his girlfriend.

Look, I’m no expert on relationships. Far from it, to be frank. I’m a 26-year-old Philly asshole who hasn’t been able to make any relationship last longer than eight months in my life. Literally, never take advice from me on this stuff. Ever.
But let’s just say, in an alternate reality, I was planning my proposal to my hypothetical girlfriend. First off, she would be an Eagles fan and a complete smoke show. That’s a given. Secondly, the last place I would make that proposal is at an opposing team’s stadium while my team is getting embarrassed on the field.
Honestly, seeing the Eagles get run into the dirt would turn me off so much that I may just scrap the relationship altogether and drink my sorrows away at the local pub. That’s probably not a healthy way to approach things, but as we’ve already established, I’m a mentally-ill Philadelphia sports fan.
I don’t want to clown this guy too hard, though. It appears his girlfriend did say yes, and hopefully, they have a long, healthy life together. Love prevails yet again. Yay.
All I’m saying is a sporting event is a terrible place to propose. What if she says no? What if the game sucks, and she’s having a horrible time? What if you take one too many shots at the stadium bar and lose the ring?
You see what I’m getting at. Too many variables in play here.
As someone who was in the stands Sunday afternoon, joyfully watching my Eagles show Pittsburgh who the real kings of Pennsylvania are, I kind of wish they showed this guy proposing on the big screen. I would’ve booed the hell out of him.
Good luck with yinz (not sure I’m using this word correctly) marriage.
