Report: Amazon’s Jeff Bezos wants to buy the Washington Commanders

With the news of Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder looking to sell his franchise on Wednesday, fans around the league have begun speculating on who the new potential owner may be.
On Thursday, PEOPLE magazine reported that another well-known billionaire is looking into purchasing the franchise off Snyder’s hands.
Per the entertainment and news outlet, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos may attempt to buy the Washington Commanders.
Jeff Bezos has wanted to own an NFL team for some time now
Having interest in buying an NFL franchise is nothing new for Jeff Bezos. Back in 2019, CBS Sports reported that Bezos was interested in purchasing a team, though there were no potential openings at the time.
Thanks to the countless scandals Snyder’s franchise has been under investigation for over the years, it looks like Bezos’ dreams may come true this time around.
According to PEOPLE, Bezos is exploring all options with this potential purchase. The Amazon founder may look to partner with rap icon Jay-Z if he goes through with it. Only time will tell.
After 23 years of ownership, it appears that Dan Snyder’s reign at the top of the Washington totem pole is finally coming to an end. As Eagles fans, watching the constant waves of controversy circling the franchise over the past two decades has been a joy.
If Jeff Bezos is able to purchase the team, perhaps the allegations will dissipate a bit. Washington fans can only hope.
