Jason Kelce gets in fight over boneless wings on Twitter

Eagles lineman and veritable Big Guy Jason Kelce does not mice words when it comes to wings. The All-Pro center is a bone-in man all the way, and made it clear in no uncertain terms on Twitter last night.

It all started with one user asking Kelce a seemingly benign question on wing preference:

A pretty strong answer from Jason there, but nothing out of the ordinary. Bone-in wings have a loyal following, and it appears he is a die-hard fan.

That said, he did not stop at declaring his preference for bone-in wings. Rather, the Super Bowl champion was provoked by a boneless wing lover, and went as far as to deny the very validity of boneless wings’ existence, which was certainly controversial to a few followers.

As the resident food guy here at The Liberty Line, I see where he is coming from. Boneless wings, on a base level, are technically not wings.

They are often made with breast meat, and are more akin to a chicken nugget or tender than a wing. It is in that sense that Kelce is correct.

HOWEVER, that does not mean there is no room at the table for boneless wings. I personally lean for a classic wing, but there are sometimes I need clean hands to drink my beer and tweet at the same time. I just don’t see why the two cannot live in harmony.

If he were a laymen, I would chastise him for such divisive, exclusionary language. Alas, he’s literally Jason Kelce, a Philadelphia icon, so I have no choice to respect his take and remain relatively quiet.

He’s not just some guy off the street, he’s an elite athlete. Sure, he’s in the NFL, but I more so meant he has competed in Wing Bowl in the past.

So with that, I’ll zip it. Just know, boneless lovers, you are seen, and you are loved.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
