David vs. Goliath: Flyers take on the Bruins in Beantown

The Flyers look to snap this 4 game losing streak with the toughest test yet in the Boston Bruins. The Bruins are 14-2 and appear to be back to their normal elite form. Carter Hart will get the start in goal for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Toughest Test for the Flyers Yet
The Boston Bruins are everything I envy in a hockey organization. All of their top players are underpaid by league standards, free agents yearn to join their club, and they always find a way to post results year after year. It’s a rock solid culture that every organization should aspire towards.
It starts with their leaders in Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci and extends all the way out to the game breaking talent that is David Pastrnak. Hampus Lindholm has 17 points in 16 games as a defenseman for the Bruins, a small example of how their culture gets the best out of individuals.
For the Flyers, it’s been more of what was expected. The game has finally caught up to them. Only collecting 1 points of a possible 8 (against CBJx2, OTT, DAL) was a humbling experience, although everyone knew they weren’t what the record showed.
It’s still a resilient group that works hard despite being down in a game. Morgan Frost got his first point in 13 games after a great shift with Farabee and Willman, and that line will stay together tonight, rightfully so.
This shift, after allowing 2 goals in like 13 minutes, is exactly what you want to see from this team.

Especially the younger guys (Morgan and Joel) pic.twitter.com/pQov3RQ1P3
I know a portion of the fanbase actively roots for Morgan Frost to fail and/or are tired of the discourse around him. He had one turnover that was blasted all over the national coverage and those people gladly ran with it.
I’m not saying Frost has been elite or will be elite, I’m saying I’d rather see a young player on my team succeed than blindly root for him to fail out of pettiness. The Flyers cut the deficit to one in the third period and I had people making sure I knew it was Nick Seeler’s goal instead of being excited. Thanks a lot, guys! I had no idea…
I’m happy he made the play and I’m happy he’s getting more opportunity with Farabee. Nobody is saying he’s the savior, but every doubter will be sure to remind you he’s not at every stop… how exhausting.
Travis Konecny and Kevin Hayes continue to top the score sheet and have been our main outlets of offense. If we are going to beat Boston we will need the veterans or the powerplay to keep us in the fight. Carter Hart has still been great he just can’t be superhuman forever and we’re going to need some of that improved possession time to pay dividends.
I’m not expecting a win, but I’m expecting a fight out of our Flyers. Let’s make this one wacky.
Prediction: 4-3 Bruins (SO)
