The City of Good Neighbors: Buffalo residents help Bills players shovel driveways so the team could catch their flight to Detroit

Earlier this week, the NFL moved the location of the Browns, Bills game to Detroit due to a massive “thundersnow” storm that was set to hit Buffalo this weekend.

Everyone saw the reports of how much lake effect snow was expected to hit western New York and man, did they not disappoint, as the storm pounded the area in a matter of 30 hours.
Honestly, I would have thought that the Buffalo Bills would have gotten out of the area before the storm arrived but that didn’t happen. Apparently they couldn’t get to their chartered plane at JFK before the storm hit.
Instead, they were snowed in with the rest of the area. Players started posted videos on social media yesterday showing how much snow they got and how other residents of Buffalo were on the scene helping them shovel their driveways so the team could catch their flight to Detroit.

Shoutout @BuffRumblings Twitter for making a wild thread showing all the Bills players dealing with the snow.
Listen, I would love to make a million smart ass comments about NFL players getting help from the locals to shovel snow but when it really comes down to it, weather has and always will be the great equalizer. Reading the comments under the tweets above, there are a lot of Buffalo residents chiming in saying that when huge snowstorms hit, it’s always all hands on deck to help out local businesses and neighbors get snow cleared so they can go about their days.
The Buffalo Bills will now stay in New York for the next two games, as they will face the Browns tomorrow and the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.
