Preview: 76ers travel to Charlotte to face the Hornets on the second night of a back-to-back

The Philadelphia 76ers are in Charlotte tonight to face the 4-14 Hornets on Thanksgiving Eve.
The Sixers will enter tonight after taking down Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets last night at the Wells Fargo Center. They will yet again be without James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, and Joel Embiid, but thanks to Tobias Harris and strong performances from both Georges Niang and Paul Reed, that didn’t even matter last night as they beat a healthy Brooklyn team 115-106.Â
Notable Sixers Statlines vs Nets
- Tobias Harris: 10-21 FG, 24 PTS, 6 REB, 3 AST
- Shake Milton: 7-14 FG, 16 PTS, 6 REB, 5 AST
- De’Anthony Melton: 7-16 FG, 22 PTS, 4 REB, 4 AST, 3 STL
- Georges Niang: 6-11 FG, 16 PTS, 4-5 3PT, 5 REB, 2 AST
- Paul Reed: 7-9 FG, 19 PTS, 10 REB, 3 STL
The Hornets will enter tonight after losing 106-102 to the Washington Wizards. They couldn’t score points that game and shot just 39% from the floor. Charlotte is NOT a good basketball team. They are 1-9 over their last 10 games and just 4-14 on the season. The Sixers, although shorthanded, are playing fantastic defense and after last night’s big win against the Nets, will look to ride the momentum into tonight.

Honestly, I’m surprised that the 76ers are 4.5 point dogs tonight in Charlotte. This team took the court last night with a ton of energy and played tough defense while moving the ball all over the court on offense. Last night, they shot 50% from three point range and pulled in 20 offensive rebounds while five players scored 15 or more points.
I’m not worried about the second night of a back-to-back with the roster we have tonight. These players are young and can easily play two basketball games on consecutive nights.

It is however, worth keeping an eye on Tobias Harris status for tonight. Harris missed a few games earlier in the week with hip soreness and last night, rolled his ankle pretty bad, but managed to stay in the game.
Still, the Hornets stink. Give me 76ers ML at +156.
