WATCH: Mexico fan stabs television after they are eliminated from World Cup despite 2-0 win

This World Cup has been an interesting one. Germany crashed out of the group stages unceremoniously, as did Mexico, which was hilarious because the United States managed to make it to the knockout round. This certainly did not help the ego of already passionate Mexico fans. Not only did they fail miserably in their campaign, their chief rival and supposed “little brother” advanced.
All that and more was too much for one Mexico fan, who stabbed his television after the final whistle that sent his country home:
I guess this is what happens when your entire country sucks at the sport it cares the most about. It’s even worse that the US probably ranks soccer around the fifth or sixth most popular sport nationwide (I personally don’t feel that way, I’m just the messenger.
It was likely made worse by having a goal called back by VAR, one that would have sent them through to the Round of 16 instead of Poland. Instead, they’ve boarded a flight home to watch the United States take on the Netherlands.
It’s interesting because Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa pretty much dismissed America’s improvements in the game. The quote, of course, aged like milk.
“Mexico is the mirror in which the [U.S.] wants to see itself and wants to copy.”

I don’t know if they sell post cards in Qatar, but if they do, I’m hoping Pulisic and the boys send El Tri a real nice one.
