LeSean McCoy thinks Eagles should let Miles Sanders walk, pursue a different free-agent next offseason

The Eagles will have a tough decision to make about Miles Sanders next spring.
Sanders, 25, is in the final year of his rookie deal and has posted career-highs across the board thus far into the season.
2022 stats
- 900 yards (career-high)
- 5.1 yards/carry
- 8 TDs (career-high)
- 26 rushes over 10+ yards (3rd in NFL)
Slighted for his past injury woes, Sanders came into the year motivated as he looks for that big payday. Whether he gets his next contract in Philly remains to be seen.
Unless the Eagles extend him in the near future, Sanders will test free agency along with several other talented runners:
- Josh Jacobs, 24
- Saquon Barkley, 25
- Tony Pollard, 25
- Jamaal Williams, 27
- Jeff Wilson, 27
- Devin Singletary, 25
- David Montgomery, 25
- Rashaad Penny, 26
- Kareem Hunt, 27
- Damien Harris, 25
Former Eagles RB LeSean McCoy believes the Eagles should pursue another name on the above list, Raiders RB Josh Jacobs. McCoy on a recent episode of Speak on FS1: “Philadelphia, we gotta get Josh Jacobs.”

Jacobs is coming off a dynamite 229-yard performance against Seattle, where he clinched a win with his 86-yard walk-off TD in overtime. Trade rumors swirled around Jacobs last offseason when Las Vegas declined his fifth-year option. The Raiders never looked to deal Jacobs, however, and now he’s the NFL’s leading rusher through 12 weeks.
For reference, Miles Sanders’ current contract value is roughly $7.2M/year, while Jacobs comes in around $12.4M/year via Sportrac. The Eagles have notoriously undervalued running backs in the past, so it’s tough to see them paying over $10M annually for one in free agency.
Not to mention, Bijan Robinson out of Texas could be waiting for them in the draft.
