Recap: Carter Hart is ruining my mental health

Well…Carter Hart has stolen another one. The Philadelphia Flyers went on the road and beat the 2nd best team in the NHL after allowing 49 shots. The man is simply killing my Connor Bedard hopes by the day.
It was nothing short of a masterclass out of Carter Hart saving everything that came his way. Especially on a night in which the Anaheim Ducks captured two points this one stung me.

New Jersey struck first and had a 8-0 shots advantage to open the contest. Everything was going poorly, until Scott Laughton tied the game on a powerplay blast from Sanheim. The Carshield duo cashes in.

Travis Konecny put the dagger away in the third period and Carter Hart rode Noah Cates’s two point game until the very end.

It’s rich that a Flyers fan is complaining about his goalie putting up amazing performances. Don’t get me wrong I’m very excited about how he’s played, but I’ve never had doubts about him. Hart stopped 48 of 49 by the end of the game which is ridiculous.
Some fans may believe rooting for losses is a loser mindset and to that I say best of luck to you. This iteration of the Flyers has been completely incompetent and the only thing that can save their awful decision making is to get stupid lucky in a draft like this one.
I’m still rooting for the players on this team to grow while the foundation gets built. It just stings when the other bottom teams give us an opportunity to make it a no-doubter and Hart pulls out some insanely wonky win.
The next opponent is the the New York Rangers at home. I’m expecting yet another incredibly boring hockey game that hopefully ends in a loss.
