New Mets pitcher Kodai Senga is ‘excited’ to face the Phillies lineup in 2023

The New York Mets introduced new Japanese pitcher Kodai Senga earlier today and he had some interesting things to say about the Philadelphia Phillies.
Kodai Senga stated that he is looking forward to facing “The Phillies Lineup” when he takes the mound for the Mets in 2023.

Senga’s statement about the Phillies has everyone riled up on social media but at the end of the day, I think it’s actually a compliment. I hardly believe he meant anything negative but hey, welcome to the MLB. Sorry you signed with the Mets too. Talk about a poverty franchise.
Plus, the Phillies lineup is DEEP and with the addition of Trea Turner, dare I say the best in Major League Baseball? Careful what you wish for, Senga. It would be sad to see you get dragged relentlessly after your first start against the Phillies after saying you can’t wait to face our lineup. Honest and truly, I wouldn’t want that to happen to you, or anyone.
Regardless, definitely some material assuming the Phillies can jump all over Senga when he’s on the mound in 2023.
