Report: Terrell Owens eyeing possible return to the Dallas Cowboys

According to NFL sources, Terrell Owens, in the year 2022, wants to return to the NFL and play for the Dallas Cowboys…huh?
Terrell Owens wants to return to the NFL and play for the Cowboys
Terrell Owens has not played NFL Football since 2010, when he put up 983 yards on 139 targets for the Cincinnati Bengals. Owens played two years in Philadelphia (2004,2005), racking up 1,963 yards, 124 receptions, and 20 touchdowns catching balls from Donovan McNabb.
“We’ve been in constant communication with Jerry Jones’ office over the last few days about the possibility of him returning to the Cowboys. Terrell is ready to contribute and play any role, big or small; he’s in outstanding shape. He looks no different than he did years ago. I watched him running routes full-speed with DeSean, and he looked great. He didn’t drop a pass.”- Owens’ agent
Owens agent has said that TO has been in contact with the Dallas Cowboys, “along with other teams,” on coming back to the league and making a run in this year’s playoffs. TO worked out with DeSean Jackson this past offseason and is still in good enough shape to make a run at a championship (although that won’t happen if he plays for the Dallas Cowboys).
I liken TO’s agent saying he looks good to a White House Press Secretary blatantly lying. It’s almost too obviously bullshit. At least the cows in Chick-fil-a commercials are semi-entertaining. This is all just sad.

Although nothing is final, I’d have to assume nothing will ever happen. Considering Owens is nearing 50 years old, a return would make him the oldest player to play a snap in NFL history. Besides, even one of the best wide receivers in NFL history wouldn’t stop the Cowboys from choking in the playoffs anyway.
He also pulls this stunt on a yearly basis. I’m pretty sure he’s said he’s planning on playing in the NFL again since the day he retired.
It was fun for the last decade, but it’s become played out. Not quite embarrassing, because TO is too shameless to ever be embarrassed, but definitely needs to stop sometime soon.
