Commanders Ron Rivera

Clueless: Commanders HC Ron Rivera had no idea his team could be eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17

You ever wonder what stupid looks like? Look no further than Commanders head coach Ron Rivera, who somehow had no idea his team could be eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17.

After Washington’s 24-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns, Rivera was asked about possibly starting QB Sam Howell in Week 18 if the game doesn’t have any playoff implications.

The Commanders head coach might be trying to get fired

It almost seems like Rivera is joking, doesn’t it?

The long pause, the puzzled look that comes over his face, the way he delivers, “We can be eliminated?” This guy is either a clueless loof or he’s just trying to get fired and doesn’t give a shit anymore. Either way, it’s another bad look for a Commanders franchise that can’t seem to catch a break.

Not only did Rivera give a classically stupid sound bite on Sunday, the team unveiled their new mascot as well. As expected, the new mascot named “Major Tuddy” looks half-assed and laughable.

God that’s awful.

But, it is on brand for this organization. Poverty franchise.
