Report: Giants likely to rest “several starters” vs. Eagles in Week 18

According to New York Giants beat writer Pat Leonard, it appears Brian Daboll will rest “several starters” when his team travels to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles this Sunday.
Looks like the Giants are being smart for once
This report from Leonard comes after Daboll indicated during his Week 17 post game presser that he will not rest his starters. He later stated that he and his staff would do what’s best for the team – which would obviously be to rest key players in preparation for the postseason.
The opening line for the Eagles vs. Giants matchup was set at -14 in favor of Philadelphia, per DraftKings Sportsbook. That alone suggests the Giants are planning on resting their starters.
Despite having a far worse record than Philadelphia, the Giants have nothing to play for in Week 18. They’re locked into the sixth seed in the NFC playoff picture. Nothing can change that. The Eagles, on the other hand, have everything to play for.
If they win, they’ll secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC and the NFC East title. If they lose, they’ll drop from the one seed and potentially lose their stranglehold on the division.
