There was speculation on a possible reunion with the Phillies with Cutch and the team’s need for another outfielder after the departure of Matt Vierling.
Cutch now returns to his original team, where he won an MVP back in 2013 with Pittsburgh. He spent nine years with the Pirates from 2009-2017, slashing .291/.379/.487 with over 200 HRs and 700 RBIs.

The Phillies will now turn heads elsewhere to fill their outfield hole, with possible guys like Adam Duvall still on the market. The team does have Johan Rojas down in the minor leagues, but it seems Rojas is not ready to play every day in the majors just yet.
A cool moment for Andrew McCutchen: He’ll have a chance to reach 2,000 hits, 400 doubles, 300 HRs, and 1,000 walks back in Pittsburgh, where his career started.
