Phillies sign 20-year old flamethrower Pan Wen-Hui out of Taiwan

While the Phillies avoided arbitration with both Rhys Hoskins and Ranger Suarez today, they also made another move, quietly signing 20-year old flamethrower Pan Wen-Hui from Taiwan.

According to Liberty Sports, the signing bonus is around $400,000 USD. Pan throws a splitter, slider, curve, and a fastball that tops out around 98.2 mph. Pan Wen-Hui has also pitched as both a starter and reliever while playing baseball in Taiwan.
