Patrick Mahomes with high praise for Jalen Hurts after Super Bowl

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in agonizing fashion last night, losing Super Bowl LVII 38-35.
While the loss itself will certainly take some time to digest, the Eagles, specifically Jalen Hurts, rose the occasion on the biggest stage of his career, throwing for 304 yards while rushing for 70, scoring three touchdowns on the ground, tallying four total on the night.

Patrick Mahomes on Jalen Hurts
“If there was any doubters left there shouldn’t be now. I mean, the way he stepped on this stage, and ran, threw the ball, whatever it took for his team to win. I mean, that was a special performance I don’t want it to get lost in the loss that they had. I mean, even whenever we got all the momentum in that game, and we went up eight points in the fourth quarter for him to respond and move his team down the football field and run in himself in a two-point conversion, it was a special performance by him and I mean, you make sure you appreciate that when you look back on this game.”

I mean look, if I told you that Jalen Hurts was going to throw for 300+ yards and rush for 70 yards, scoring three touchdowns on the ground and throwing for another one, you would think that the Eagles just won the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, that’s just not how the game played out and at the end of the night, the Birds didn’t have the opportunity to get back on the field with significant time left on the clock to have one final chance to win the game.
