TDL Talk: Latest Flyers Rumors Prior to March 3rd Deadline

With the trade deadline coming up very soon on March 3rd, the rumors about a few Flyers potentially playing their last games in O&B are heating up.
JVR
James van Riemsdyk has always been highly talked about within the Flyers fanbase for many years.
From the fights between bringing him back in the first place, to talks about his AAV ($7.0), to his extremely streaky goal scoring that always seems to come when things didn’t matter. It was always something despite him being…solid.
Now, talks of moving him prior to the deadline are heating up just months after Chuck Fletcher struggled to dump his contract in the offseason.
According to Elliot Friedman on 32 Thoughts, MIN, VGK, DAL & WPG are all interested in the 33-year old winger.
JVR currently has 9G-13A-22P in 35 games this year. He’s done a nice a nice job of helping out younger players such as Morgan Frost and Owen Tippett, who are both having solid seasons.
In all honesty, with the position the Flyers are in as an organization, JVR having 1-year left on his deal, this trade was always going to happen, it was just a matter of when?
Obviously, Chuck has ties with MIN, but Dallas is an interesting thought. JVR would fit nicely with them on a line with say…Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston?
Konecny
No big news here. Only thing about Konecny that came from this update from Friedman was that the Flyers aren’t looking to move him unless it’s a “whopper of an offer.”
Like I said, not much there.
I would hope it would take a pretty nice offer to move on from a very solid second-line winger who is 25-years old and on a very respectable contract.
Do you have a center?
Friedman mentioned that the Flyers are also actively looking for centers, which can’t come to a surprise for fans.
– They have a natural winger (Noah Cates) playing C this year.
– They’re relying on Sean Couturier who hasn’t played hockey in years to come back and give them SOLID minutes.
– Morgan Frost can be a solid 2C on a good team but he’s not a top-line guy right now.
Cutter Gauthier is playing center for Boston College right now and doing and pretty damn good job with it. He currently has 14G-13A-27P in 24 games.
Maybe Cutter can be that guy they’re looking for?
It’s no secret they’re looking for a top-line center. They desperately need elite talent.
Nick Seeler
Seeler is apparently drawing interest from teams around the league but the Flyers are “not in a hurry to do that.”
I’m not trying to sit here and shit on Nick Seeler (maybe a little), granted he’s actually been pretty solid this year, but why are these the battles the Flyers FO choose?
“Not in a hurry”, or need to be “blown away” by an offer for Nick Seeler?
What? Take what you can get and move on. I understand squeezing value out of a GM and playing hard-ball during an negotiation to get the best possible deal, but we’re talking about Nick Seeler here.
A 5th to a 4th if you play hardball?
A 4th to a 3rd? Ooooo, that’ll show em’, Chuck!
Trade deadline is 15 days away and I’m very interested to see just how bad Chuck manages to fumble it.
