AJ Brown: “If you don’t pay Jalen Hurts, just ship me wherever he finna go”

It should come as no surprise that Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts is set for a massive payday after a Super Bowl appearance and an MVP-like regular season.
Eagles WR AJ Brown hopped on “Raw Room” to talk all things Eagles, NFL, and Hurts’ contract situation. Brown, a longtime friend of Hurts campaigned for his quarterback to get paid as quickly as possible.
AJ Brown: “Just ship me wherever he (Jalen Hurts) finna go”
“Listen, I love Philly. You do not pay this man (Jalen Hurts), ship me off wherever he finna go. So you talk about pressure…Howie, get it done.”- AJ Brown
Pretty funny. Obviously, Jalen Hurts is going to get paid and all things considered, Brown knows that.
The Eagles’ front office has already stated that getting Hurts locked in to a long-term deal is their number one priority this offseason. Earlier this week, it was reported that Hurts is in line to sign a new contract before the NFL Combine kicks off in early March.
Per Spotrac, Hurts’ market value sits at $44.2 million per year. In terms of the full contract, Spotrac projects it to be six years in length with a total value of $265,373,424, which would make the Eagles QB the sixth-highest-paid player in the entire NFL.
The Eagles have already begun the process of creating extra cap space to compensate for Hurts’ impending extension. Per Field Yates, the team restructured Jason Kelce’s deal last week in order to free up $2.4M in cap space for this offseason.
Pay the man.
