Report: Eagles conduct second interview with Seattle assistant Sean Desai for vacant defensive coordinator position

With the NFL Scouting Combine just one day away, it appears the Philadelphia Eagles may have found their new defensive coordinator.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Eagles hosted Seattle Seahawks assistant coach Sean Desai for a second interview Monday morning. Rapoport adds Desai is one of the few finalists for the vacant DC position in Philly.
Eagles narrowing down their DC search
The team’s defensive backs coach, Denard Wilson, is also a finalist for the job, per reports.
Desai, 39, spent nine years in Chicago learning under Vic Fangio, one of the best defensive minds in the NFL today. He only has one year of defensive coordinator experience under his belt in Chicago. Desai’s unit ranked 22nd in points per game, but they finished inside the top-10 in yards per game (312), passing yards per game (191.6), and sacks (49).
The Eagles have done their due diligence searching for a new DC. They interviewed NFL vets like Vance Joseph, along with hot college names like former Wisconsin defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard.
With the scouting combine getting underway on Tuesday, expect a hire to be made within the next few days.
