Gregory Soto received his Visa on Tuesday, will join the Phillies in the coming days

Newest Phillies reliever Gregory Soto has finally received his new Visa and will travel to Clearwater, Florida, to join the Phillies in Spring Training.
Gregory Soto is Headed to Clearwater
Gregory Soto has been struggling to receive his Visa for weeks and was down in the Dominican Republic for the time being. Although Soto wasn’t training with the team, he was still working out at the Phillies training facility in the DR.
Soto was supposed to pitch for Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic but will no longer make the trip to the tournament. Cardinals LHP Genesis Cabrera is set to replace Soto in the WBC, which kicked off last night.
Gregory Soto, 27, is a 2x All-Star and coming off the best season of his 4-year career in Detroit. He logged a 3.28 ERA in 64 games out of the bullpen for the Tigers, allowing just 22 earned runs in 60.1 innings while striking out 60 batters.
Soto is a four-pitch pitcher relying heavily on a nasty sinker which he throws at a 45.6% rate. From there, he throws a fastball (31.9%) to go along with a slider and changeup.
