Report: Eagles ink Brandon Graham to one-year, $6M deal

Well, at least the Philadelphia Eagles are keeping one of their defensive free agents.
According to ESPN Eagles reporter Tim McManus, Philadelphia has come to terms with DE Brandon Graham on a one-year deal worth up to $6M.
BG will remain with the Eagles
Despite being 34 years old, Graham was expected to garner interest around the league when free agency begins next week, most notably from the Cleveland Browns. Out of loyalty to the organization, BG is staying put, even though he likely would have made more money on the market.
BG is coming off a career-year, posting a career-high 11 sacks and 16 QB hits, while logging just 43 percent of the Eagles defensive snaps.
Graham made his intentions clear when speaking with ESPN.
“I definitely don’t want to miss out on this championship that we’re about to make a run for,” BG said. “I pretty much directed [my agent] Joel [Segal] just to get a deal done before free agency so I wouldn’t have to go through that part. I’m just so happy everything came to fruition. It wasn’t even about no money. It was more about wanting to be an Eagle as long as I could still play at a high level, and of course I still have a sour taste in my mouth on how things ended this last year.”
In today’s day and age, you’ll rarely see professional athletes stay with a team out of pure loyalty. BG is one of the good ones. I have no doubt he’ll end his career in Philly when the time comes.
