Phillies send seven players to minor league camp, agree to terms with 22 pre-arbitration-eligible players for 2023

The Philadelphia Phillies made a boatload of roster moves this morning, optioning six players to minor-league camp and one to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
RHP James McArthur has been optioned to Triple-A. RHPs Mick Abel, Andrew Baker, Jon Duplantier, Griff McGarry, Francisco Morales, and Billy Sullivan have been reassigned to minor league camp after being non-roster invitees for major league camp to start the spring.
The three big names here are Mick Abel, Griff McGarry, and Andrew Baker. All three of these pitchers have bright futures in the Phillies organization, but they’re not ready to compete at the major league level just yet, along with the Phils not really having a spot for them on the 26-man at the moment.
Along with these reassignments, the Phillies also agreed to terms with 22 pre-arbitration-eligible players, including Alec Bohm, Bailey Falter, Bryson Stott, and Garrett Stubbs.

With these 22 players now agreeing to terms for the 2023 season, the Phils need to shift their focus to resigning two of their impact players. Aaron Nola and Rhys Hoskins still need new contracts, and while it seems that Nola’s could be done before the season starts, minimal talks have begun with 1B Rhys Hoskins.
The Phils are currently trailing the Blue Jays 4-3 in the bottom of the 8th inning. Team USA got their first win in Pool Play last night and will take on Mexico tonight at a sold-out Chase Field.
ICYMI, Garrett Stubbs is the most electric player in baseball.
