Rumor: Flyers to name Alyn McCauley GM of the Phantoms

According to Anthony Di Marco, the Flyers are soon to name Alyn McCauley GM of the Phantoms. This comes days after Dave Scott announced his retirement, with Dan Hilferty being announced as his replacement.
Alyn McCauley
McCauley, 45, was promoted to the position of Director of Player Personnel for the Flyers on February 3rd of 2022. Now, he becomes the full-time GM for the Phantoms after that job was managed by someone else in the organization. Brent Flahr, the organizations assistant GM, has technically handled the contracts and team personnel decisions, but they now want to give that role solely to one person.
Although this has nothing to do with the big club directly, it’s refreshing seeing a structure slowly be built within the organization. No more giving multiple positions to one person just because it’s convenient. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a start.
Example:
– Chuck Fletcher was GM and President of Hockey Ops
– Brent Flahr was Vice President & Assistant General Manager & handled Phantoms.
Now that we know there will be one GM (Briere) and one President of Hockey Ops (someone to be named later), you can start to see the initial steps to at least TRY and turn things around here. It starts with making the smart little decisions at the top of your organization.
