Preview: Phillies look for series win vs. Marlins at 6:40 EST with Aaron Nola on the mound

Coming off a dominant 15-3 win on Monday night, Aaron Nola and the Phillies will go for the series win tonight at 6:40 vs. the Miami Marlins.
Nola (0-1, 7.45 ERA) will make his third start of the season, going up against Jesus Luzardo (1-0, 0.71 ERA) of Miami.
Everything clicked on Monday night for the Phillies. Matt Strahm was great in his second start (third outing) of the season, throwing five scoreless innings with six strikeouts. Strahm has now logged ten scoreless innings to start the season and has been a valuable piece to a Phillies rotation that hasn’t had the best start.
The team tallied 15 total runs on 20 hits, with home runs from Alec Bohm, Jake Cave, and Brandon Marsh. Alec Bohm totaled 6 RBIs on the night, going 3-5 with two runs scored, three hits, and a 440-foot bomb that never had a chance to stay in the park.
Bryson Stott was moved into the leadoff spot for last night’s game and continued his hot start, going 2-6 with two hits. Stott continues to lead the team in hits and batting average while logging seven multi-hit games this season, the most in Major League Baseball.
Aaron Nola vs. Jesus Luzardo
Aaron Nola will look to get back on the right foot after two shaky starts to start the 2023 season. Nola has thrown just 9.2 innings throughout his first two games, allowing 11 hits and eight earned runs. He went six innings vs. New York but still didn’t have his best stuff, allowing seven hits and three earned runs.
Jesus Luzardo takes the mound for the Marlins and looks to continue his fantastic start to the season. Luzardo’s last outing took place at home vs. the Twins, where he logged seven strong innings, allowing just five hits and one earned run while striking out ten.

This will do down really welll…fingers crossed
I really hope this game goes well tonight. The Phillies need to do what they did last night and crush the Miami Marlins. I know every other time the Phillies have faced the Marlins it has been difficult for them but seeing them crush the Marlins yesterday gives me hope that they can do it again tonight.
