Eagles Buzz: Devin White, Budda Baker clearly want to come to Philadelphia after recent social media activity

In case you missed it, the Eagles inked Jalen Hurts to a five-year, $255M extension on Monday, making Philly’s signal caller the highest paid player in the history of the NFL.
Hurts will be in an Eagles uniform through at least 2028
In the aftermath of the massive deal getting announced, several players from around the league took to social media to congratulate Hurts on his payday. Among them were LB Devin White and S Budda Baker, two players who are openly seeking a trade from their respective teams.
Baker took to Twitter to show love to Hurts, firing off a handful of Tweets and liking two Tweets mentioning Hurts and his new deal.
One of Baker’s followers responded to ask if the Pro Bowl safety may be hinting at something. Budda replied with this:
The Cardinals safety also liked these Tweets:

Then we have White, who’s already hinted at wanting to join the Eagles earlier this offseason.
After the team signed CB Greedy Williams and the cornerback posted about it on his Instagram, White slid in to comment, “Let’s make it happen.”
Following the news of Hurts extension, White again took to IG, this time commenting under the Eagles’ photo announcing the deal.

Though the remaining cap space the Eagles have may not be enough to accommodate these two standouts, it’s clear that they would love to play alongside Hurts.
If you watched any of HBO’s Hard Knocks In Season with the Cardinals this past year, you’ll know Baker is cut from the same cloth as Hurts. All work, no bullshit. It’s all about winning and achieving it by any means necessary.
Culturally speaking, Baker would be a perfect fit in the Eagles locker room. Unfortunately, he wants to be the highest paid safety in the sport and there’s about a one percent chance Howie Roseman will pony up.
As for White, it probably won’t cost as much in a trade to poach him from Tampa Bay, but the 25-year-old backer is also looking for a new contract. Tampa picked up his fifth-year option last year, meaning he’ll get paid $11.7M in 2023. If the Eagles were to deal for White, it would probably be similar to how they went about acquiring AJ Brown by having an extension in place before the trade even gets announced.
If White and Baker had their way, they’d be in midnight green next season. But they both play positions that the Eagles notoriously devalue.
Maybe they’d be willing to take less to play for the top contender in the NFC with the best quarterback in the conference? I doubt it. Money talks and both players are still well under 30 years old. The ‘ring chasing’ portion of their careers are still a few years away and they’ll both want to be paid handsomely in the interim.
But, if there’s one GM in this league who could make it happen, it’s Howie Roseman. We could see one or both of these guys moved prior to or during next week’s NFL Draft.
Stay tuned. Howie SZN is only just beginning.
