Eagles WR takes shot at fans on Twitter ahead of critical season

The Eagles agreed to terms with former Falcons WR Olamide Zaccheaus yesterday, a shifty slot receiver who posted career-highs last season with Atlanta.
The move indicates that Philadelphia wants competition at the WR3 spot heading into training camp.
Zach Pascal (signed with ARI in free agency) and Quez Watkins filled that role last year, but the latter struggled throughout the regular season and playoffs.
After recording 647 receiving yards in 2021, Watkins caught just 33 passes for 354 yards last season. Of course, the addition of AJ Brown contributed to his regression as the entire offense had to adjust, but Watkins came up short in a number of critical moments.
As you can imagine, Eagles’ fans have been vocal about Quez Watkins’ shortcomings last season.
The the third-year wide receiver isn’t taking the criticism on Twitter lightly.

Despite a down year, HC Nick Sirianni continues to speak highly of the 24-year-old, hinting that Watkins will continue to be involved in the offense.
“I would say the difference this year and last year was opportunity,” Nick Sirianni said at the NFL Owners Meetings. “He [Watkins] didn’t have as many opportunities. We tried to be up front about that as much as we can. So I think what he was probably frustrated with is that he didn’t make the amount of plays that he made last year.”
The Eagles expect a bounce-back campaign from Watkins as they aim to get back to a Super Bowl.
