WATCH: Minor league brawl between Phillies and Yankees affiliates yields some quality action

The Single-A minor league affiliates of the Phillies and Yankees put on a surprisingly decent donnybrook during a game last weekend. The Clearwater Threshers played the Tampa Tarpons on a sunny afternoon, and Threshers manager Marty Malloy took it upon himself to throw a punch out of nowhere after a HBP.
Nothing like a minor league manager starting a bench-clearing brawl:
Good lord, that was quite the start of a scrap. It’s kind of nuts that Tarpons manager Gerardo Casadiego took a shot straight to the jaw and hit the closest guy to him. Some may call it psychotic, but that’s exactly what you need in a 50-man brawl.
It was tilly time from there for these guys. One of my favorite screengrabs of one guy just getting hammered by half the opposing roster. Talk about a record-scratch moment.

This was such a refreshing departure from the standard MLB “fight.” Benches clear, guys yell, nobody does much of anything, and it’s back to the dugout for the next pitch.
I’m not condoning violence, but I am condoning being a man of integrity. If you start something, you better finish it, and these guys left it all on the field. Minor league guys know you need to seize your opportunity, and these gentlemen did so, and then some.
