Eagles vs. Giants is the ‘leader in the clubhouse’ for NFL’s inaugural Black Friday game in 2023

This season, the NFL will schedule it’s first ever Black Friday game as part of its programming deal with Amazon Prime Video. The Eagles vs. Giants matchup might be the top candidate for that exclusive slot, according to NBC Sports’ Peter King.
In his weekly FMIA column, King writes, “The first game ever on Friday afternoon after Thanksgiving is a very big deal for Amazon on the biggest shopping day of the year. I think the leader in the clubhouse for that game is Eagles-Giants. Absolutely not set in stone, though.”
I wasn’t a fan of Amazon’s deal with the NFL to exclusively air all the Thursday night games last season and this new Black Friday game certainly doesn’t help their cause. But as we all know, the NFL is the king of the sports world. It doesn’t matter when, where, or what streaming service they air their games on, people will tune in. Myself included.
Seeing the Eagles beat the living shit out of the Giants in the inaugural Black Friday game would be kind of neat, though. Heat up some leftovers from Thanksgiving, grab a cold one from the fridge, and allow the Eagles to cure any anxiety you may have from spending money during Black Friday. An Eagles win can cure almost anything. Especially against the Giants.
Friendly Reminder: The Eagles outscored the Giants 108-45 in three games last season.

As King points out, this is not set in stone yet. Over the weekend we learned the NFL will officially announce the 2023 schedule on Thursday, May 11. We’ll see if the Eagles do in fact play on Black Friday in just over a week’s time.
