WATCH: New York Mets announcers rip the Washington Nationals, MLB after 4-hour rain delay ended with the game postponed

The Mets and Nationals only played two-plus innings on Saturday before the game was delayed by rain.
The Nationals were leading 1-0 in the top of the third inning and then was delayed for four house before it was announced that the game would NOT resume that night and be played today (Sunday) as a part of a split-admission double header.
Why does that make it even worse?
Well, outside of the fans who stayed at the game yesterday for four plus hours before getting told in an announcement on the Jumbotron that that should go home, only people in at Saturday’s game will be able to attend the resumed game today.
Fans who had tickets for Sunday’s game on Mother’s Day will have to adjust their plans as well, with their game being pushed back to 4:35PM.
New York Mets’ TV announcers ripped the Washington Nationals and the MLB over the rain delay decision.
“For me, to take this long to come to a decision. To make these people wait out here without any clue. I don’t know. That to me is just unconscionable,” Keith Hernandez said.
“It’s really a shameful episode on the part of Major League Baseball to permit this to happen and then to come to this kind of a resolution, to charge fans twice tomorrow rather than play straight through with the completion of the suspended game,” announcer Gary Cohen said.
It’s always tough when the worst people you know make a great point, but you have to agree with the Mets announcers on this one.
The Nationals made fans wait four hours and then decided to postpone the game. On top of that, they decided to go with a split admission double header and change the start time of the second game.
How can you not honor tickets for the earlier game too? It’s not like the Nationals are selling out baseball games anyways, right?
Talk about inconsiderate.
The Nationals series against the Mets is a wraparound four game series and they probably should have just scheduled this game on Monday to avoid switching up things today, on Mother’s Day.
Anyone with half of a brain could figure that out but again, we’re talking about the Washington Nationals here so it’s possible we were expecting too much from that poverty organization down in D.C.
Bad look.
Happy Mother’s Day.
I still can’t believe they waited 4 hours before postponing that game. That is crazy!
