WATCH: Marcus Smart couldn’t deal with Jimmy Butler and the Heat talking trash, throws punch during awful Game 3 blowout

The Miami Heat absolutely clobbered the Boston Celtics on Sunday night. Once again led by basketball psycho Jimmy Butler, the Heat beat up their opponent pretty severely on the floor but dealt even worse damage to their psyche by talking trash nonstop for the entire game, even with a comfortable lead.
This led to Oscar-nominated actor and Olympic diver Marcus Smart coming at Butler with what could be the softest chirp this NBA postseason:
“We beat y’all last year” is probably the lamest thing you could say in this scenario. You’re about to go down 0-3 in the Conference Finals, and all you can do is talk about last season? When you didn’t even win the title? Absurd.
I didn’t watch most of the game because I was busy watching the penultimate episode of Succession, and by the time the episode was over, Game 3 was well out of reach. Sadly, I missed seeing this happen live as a result.
Usually, players going back and forth isn’t worthy of a blog. However, Marcus Smart being too soft to handle trash talk in the ECF is incredibly noteworthy.
If the biggest instigator in the NBA is mentally worn down, imagine how the rest of the Boston Celtics feel. The Miami Heat might win Game 4 by 40+ points if this is where they’re at.
The whole issue is made more embarrassing for Smart by the fact that he not only threw a sucker punch at Caleb Martin but MISSED ENTIRELY.

He really is the worst.
